Microsoft Teams integration

Collect product feedback from Teams and close the loop.

With the Harvestr app for Microsoft Teams, your teammates can send product feedback to Harvestr without leaving their Teams channels.

Prerequisites

To set up the integration, you need:

  • a Harvestr Editor account

  • permission to install apps in your Microsoft Teams workspace. Depending on your organization's setup, you may need your Teams administrator to approve the installation.

How to install Harvestr in Microsoft Teams

  1. Go to Settings > Integrations > Microsoft Teams and click Connect Microsoft Teams. Sign in with Microsoft and approve Harvestr for your organization. You need a Microsoft 365 account allowed to approve apps for your organization.

  2. Go to Microsoft Teams Apps and search for the Harvestr app.

  3. Click Add to install the app in your workspace.

  4. Choose the team where you want to add the app.

You're all set. Back in Harvestr, the team appears in the Teams card, and the Harvestr bot is available in that team. To add another team, add the Harvestr app to it from Teams (Apps › Harvestr › Add to a team).

Submit feedback from a message

Sometimes the best feedback comes from casual conversations. Here's how to send it to Harvestr in one click:

  1. Hover over any message in Teams.

  2. Click the More actions (⋯) button.

  3. Select Send to Harvestr.

The feedback lands in your Harvestr inbox, ready to be categorized and prioritized by the product team. You'll also get a confirmation in the same Teams thread.

Feedback templates don't apply to Teams. If you want teammates to submit structured feedback against a template, use the Slack integration, the Chrome extension, or the HubSpot widget instead.

Close the loop with people who sent feedback from Teams

Harvestr replies in the Teams thread where the feedback was sent, so the teammate who shared it knows what happened to it.

The events are set once for your whole organization, in Settings > Notifications. Microsoft Teams follows these organization rules unless you give it its own: open it in the Per-channel rules card and choose Customised, or Off to never reply from Teams. The events you can turn on:

  • their feedback arrives in Harvestr

  • their feedback is linked to a discovery

  • a teammate comments on their feedback. Comment notifications are never posted in the thread: they reach the teammate in Harvestr or by email.

  • the linked discovery moves to a status you chose, typically Planned or Shipped

Remove the Harvestr app from Microsoft Teams

To uninstall the Harvestr app from your workspace:

  1. Go to Manage my apps in Teams.

  2. Find Harvestr and remove the app from all teams.

Then, in Settings > Integrations > Microsoft Teams, click ⋯ on Microsoft 365 organization, then Disconnect, and confirm. Feedback already received stays in Harvestr.

If the app still appears in Teams after removal, log out and log back in to refresh the interface.
