Our native Trello integration lets you create and link Trello cards right from your Harvestr Discoveries. You can then follow the evolution of these cards and their status in Trello, without leaving Harvestr.
Prerequisites
To use our Trello integration, all you need is:
a Trello account with Admin permissions
a Harvestr Editor account, on any paid plan (Core, Scale, or Elite)
How to connect Harvestr to your Trello account
Connecting your Trello account to Harvestr is straightforward:
Go to your Harvestr settings → Integrations → Trello.
Click Connect to Trello.
In the OAuth window that pops up, log in to your Trello account.
Authorize Harvestr and grant the rights listed.
Once this is done, you'll be automatically redirected to your Trello integration settings in Harvestr, where you should now see the option Remove Trello integration.
How to use the Trello integration in Harvestr
Now that the integration is set up, a Trello section appears in every Discovery in Harvestr. You can:
create and link one or more new Trello cards to a Discovery
link one or more existing Trello cards to a Discovery
1. Create and link new Trello cards to a Discovery
Once you've decided to take a Discovery to development, you can create cards in Trello that correspond to what needs to be built.
When you click Create card in a Discovery, a window opens where you can enter the card's attributes: project, type, status, assignee, summary, and description.
Once created, the card appears in Trello with the attributes you entered and a link back to the Discovery in Harvestr. This gives your software team access to the valuable content in your Discovery, such as user feedback.
In your Discovery, you'll also see a link to the newly created card and be able to track its status as it changes in Trello.
2. Link existing Trello cards to a Discovery
Sometimes you'll want to link Trello cards that already exist to a Harvestr Discovery.
Click the Link card button in your Discovery. This opens a search bar where you can search a Trello card by its name or its key. Searching by key only works when you type the complete key.
Once linked, you can follow the card's status from Harvestr.
You can link as many cards as you like to a single Discovery.
What the Trello integration does not do
Unlike our Jira and Linear integrations, Trello does not support automatic Discovery status sync. You can see a card's status from Harvestr, but a card moving to Done won't automatically change the state of its linked Discovery.
To keep Discovery states current, display the Trello field in your Discovery table, filter on card status, and update the matching Discoveries in bulk.
