Our Linear integration lets you create and link issues of all types directly from your Harvestr Discoveries. You can then follow the progress and status of these issues in Linear without leaving Harvestr.
Prerequisites
To use our Linear integration, all you need is:
A Linear account with Administrator permissions
A Harvestr Editor account
How to integrate Harvestr with your Linear account
To connect your Linear account to Harvestr, navigate to the Linear integration settings and click "Connect to Linear". Enter your Linear credentials and you're done.
How to use the Linear integration in Harvestr
Once the integration is set up, a "Link Linear" button will appear in each Discovery in Harvestr.
You can now:
Create and link one or more new Linear issues to a Discovery
Link one or more existing Linear issues to a Discovery
1. Create and link new Linear issues to a Discovery
After deciding to move forward with a Discovery, you can create corresponding issues in Linear for development.
When you click "Create issue" within a Discovery in Harvestr, a window will pop up, allowing you to enter the issue’s attributes, including:
title
team
description
assignee
priority
Pro tip: by clicking "Copy fields from Discovery", you can automatically copy the title and description fields from your Discovery and paste them into the issue's Title and Description fields.
Once created, the issue will appear in Linear with the attributes you specified and an additional link back to the Discovery in Harvestr. This gives your development team access to valuable Discovery content, such as user feedback.
2. Link existing Linear issues to a Discovery
If you need to link existing Linear issues to a Harvestr Discovery, you can do so by selecting the "Link issue" button within your Discovery. A search bar will open, allowing you to search for a Linear issue by name or by key. Note that searching by key requires typing the complete key.
Once linked, you can monitor the issue's status directly from Harvestr.
You can link multiple Linear issues to a single Discovery.
3. Track Linear issues status from a Discovery
When a Linear issue is linked to a Discovery, the issue's information, including its status, can be tracked in real time from Harvestr.
