A blank Discovery is an invitation to write nothing. Templates give your team the shape of a good one — the sections, the questions, the outline — so the work is filling it in rather than deciding what to write.
Create a template
From the Discovery templates settings, click Create a new template.
You define three things:
Template title — the internal name, used to pick it from the list
Discovery title — pre-filled on every Discovery created from this template
Discovery description — your PRD outline, sections, or guiding questions
Templates can be reordered, and that order is what your team sees when creating a Discovery. Put the one you want used most at the top.
Set a default
Optionally, mark one template as the default.
It's then applied to every new Discovery unless someone picks another. Worth doing if your team follows one standard structure — it turns the convention into the path of least resistance.
Use a template
When several templates exist, you can switch between them at any point while creating the Discovery.
Switching replaces the title and description with the new template's.
Templates shape the description. For structured data you want to filter, sort and report on — effort, confidence, target date, revenue at stake — use custom fields instead.
