Export your feedback to CSV

How to export feedback from your inbox

Written by Marina Salmon

In this article, you'll learn how to export the feedback from your inbox.

Launching an export

Only Editors can launch an export.

Go to your inbox and open the 3-dot menu at the top of your feedback list. Clicking Export messages launches the export, which is sent to you by email.

Only feedback in your current folder and matching the active search options is exported.

For example, launching the export while in the New folder with no active search filter exports everything in your New folder. Applying a filter first narrows the export to what the filter returns.

What's in the export

Your feedback is exported as a CSV or JSON file containing the following attributes for each item:

  • channel — where the feedback comes from

  • company — name of the company associated with this feedback

  • discoveries — the list of discoveries (title and id) linked to this feedback during categorization. If empty, nothing in this item has been categorized yet.

  • requester — name and email of the person associated with this feedback (usually a customer)

  • content — the feedback content, as HTML

  • created at — creation date

  • submitter — name and email of the person who sent or created this feedback (usually you or one of your teammates)

  • title — the title of the feedback

  • id — the unique identifier

Intercom conversations export only their first message. To retrieve the full conversation thread, use the Intercom API directly.

Need more than the export gives you?

The export covers the fields listed above. If you need something else — a different shape, other fields, or an automated pull — you have two options:

  • Our Public API exposes the same data programmatically, with filters on channel, requester, date, and more.

  • For a one-off custom export, contact our support team.
